SPECS-ON-WEB
Military specifications and standards consist of the following document types:
• Military/Performance/Detail Specifications
• Military Standards
• DOD-adopted Non-Government/Industry Specifications and Standards
• Federal Specifications and Standards
• Military Handbooks
• Qualified Products/Manufacturers Lists (QPL/QMLs)
• Commercial Item Descriptions (CIDs)
• Air Force/Navy Aeronautical Standards/Design Standards
• Air Force Specifications Bulletins
The government has been controlling these documents for many years and is currently supporting DOD efforts to find commercial off-the-shelf (Non government standards) substitutes for military specifications. Therefore, certain specifications have been superceeded by commercial specifications. Superceeded documents will be specified in the document description in the table below. You may still download or view the superceeded document if it is available, but the information about the commercial superceeding document is there for your information.
These specifications and standards are approved for public release and can be distributed in an unlimited fashion.
The following documents

Searching For documents: Use your
browsers "Find in page" function to search for documents by
number. Search using the document number (example: To find MIL-A-83248C
search for the number "83248" on this page and you will be able to find
each document that has that number in it). This will allow you to find
the document no matter what the prefix or revision is. You can also
search for words that would be in the description if you don't know the
document number. The documents are sorted alphabetically byspecification
number in the table, not by the number in the specification number.
